Wife of the French President Nikolas Sarkozy, super-model and a singer Carla Bruni has told the press that she is “deeply offenced” by the criticism surrounding her new album. As it was expected most of the critics belong to the anti-Sakozy political groups, says AFP.
Her third album “Comme Si De Rien N’Etait”, which is available on her personal website is facing the cold shoulder from the French music critics. Of course including those who don’t like Bruni’s husband and his policies. “Definitely, it’s offending me, but at the same time it’s quite natural”, she said in one of her interviews, “That is very understandable when people are mixing my music career together with the first lady’s status”. Previously, Bruni has announced that she is going to cancel her concert tour because of the safety issues.
Her debut album “Quelqu’un M’a Dit” was released in 2002, and became very popular in France selling two million copies. The next one “No Promises” (2007) didn’t get that far, possibly because that time she has used English poetry – it sold only 380 thousand copies.
