Old Faces, New Legends

Metallica and Run DMC are going to be placed into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. The ceremony in dedication to this historical event will take place on April 4, 2009 in Cleveland, Ohio. Besides that, all celebrations that are somehow connected to this affair will continue for at least seven days. Also, the Hall of Fame shall welcome Jeff Beck, Little Anthony & The Imperials, and Bobby Womack. “These artists demonstrate the rich diversity of rock and roll itself. We are proud to honor these artists and celebrate their contribution to rock and roll’s place in our culture”, said the Hall’s director Joel Peresman. In order to get into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame it takes not less than twenty five years after the release of the first album, in other words continuity, age and of course talent make it all happen. For the last two decades Metallica is considered to be the most successful metal band. Their debut album “Kill ‘Em All” was recorded in 1983 (Megaforce Records).

Run DMC is going to be the second rap group to enter the Hall. The first one went to the hip-hop pioneers Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five in 2007. Jeff Beck is practically already there because in 1992 he made it to the list together with The Yardbirds.
