Metallica’s lead guitarist and singer James Hetfield is thinking about repeating his band’s successful 1988’s American tour, but this time in Europe, said Reuters. Practically, Metallica in the 1980’s was known for it’s powerful and extremely popular live show programs that made it famous before MTV even heard of them. Back in 1988 together with Van Halen and Scorpions they’ve organised thirty concerts. Each concert lasted for ten hours turning it into a huge live spectacles, which eventually gave them an incredible fame. Playing live was their key to success, something people don’t really see nowdays among numerous new bands because plastic, digital and generally speaking more commercialised ways of entertaining destroy live presentation. Today Metallica is one of the most popular rock bands, legendary and unstoppable shall tour Europe together with Linkin Park and Slipknot within “Sonisphere” concert program.
This tour will start in Holland’s Nijmegen on June 20 this year and should continue in Germany, Spain, Sweeden and Finland. The last show of this grand tour is going to take place in England. The only problem with it is that the band is constantly avoiding Eastern Europe, Greece and former Yugoslavia, even though that part of Europe may be way more into their music.
